AEP Monterey Bay-Silicon Valley Chapter – Nominations for Board Positions

Nominations are currently open for the 2024 Board of AEP's MB-SV Chapter. The Board positions detailed below are currently vacant. All other Board positions are also open for nominations, although all incumbent Board members have expressed their desire to continue serving in 2024. Nominations close November 30, 2023 and elections will be held in December.

  • Vice President of Programs (Santa Cruz and/or San Benito Counties)
    • Organizes in-person and online educational events (lunchtime seminars, field trips, webinars, etc) and networking events (happy hours, member appreciation events, etc).
  • Member-at-Large
    • Perfect role for those new to the Board who want to learn more, without committing to a more substantial role.
    • Assists other Board members with their duties, as needed. 
    • Areas of assistance could include:
      • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion coordinator
      • Mentorship coordinator
      • or many others, depending on your skills and interests!
  • Student Liaisons
    • Perfect for those with strong ties (faculty, former students, etc) with a local college within our Chapter boundaries.
    • Assist our Student Director to implement student scholarships, programming for student members, and/or set up a formal Student Chapter.

AEP SF Bay Chapter – Nominations for Board Positions

Nominations are currently open for the 2024 Board of AEP's SF Bay Chapter. The Board positions detailed below are currently vacant. All other Board positions are also open for nominations, although all incumbent Board members have expressed their desire to continue serving in 2024. Nominations close November 30, 2023 and elections will be held in December.

  • VICE PRESIDENT of PROGRAMS – East Bay
    The Vice President (VP) of Programs shall work to engage Chapter members in meaningful and fun programming designed to cultivate member relationships and broaden professional knowledge base. The VP of Programs shall have the primary responsibility of coordinating Chapter programs and a secondary responsibility to assist the President.
    • The VP of Programs shall plan, promote, and execute Chapter events including speakers, menu, name tags, reservations and press releases.
    • The VP of Programs shall assist the Chapter President as required in normal organization operations and may be asked to assume the responsibilities of the President in their absence.
  • Member-at-Large
    • Perfect role for those new to the Board who want to learn more, without committing to a more substantial role.

AEP San Diego - Nominations for Board Positions

Nominations due November 17, 2023

STUDENT MEMBERSHIP & OUTREACH DIRECTOR

The Student Membership and Outreach Director shall be responsible for coordinating and developing student membership and participation from local universities for the Chapter. The Student Membership and Outreach Director will promote internships and host networking programs for local undergraduate and graduate students with a goal of creating and providing a better network between students and the environmental professional community.

TREASURER

The Treasurer shall keep a complete and accurate record of Chapter finances and property, prepare quarterly and annual financial reports for the State Financial Vice President, prepare the annual Chapter Budget, collect and disburse funds, and maintain Chapter accounts. The Treasurer shall prepare an annual property list for the Chapter and State Boards. Such list shall include all equipment owned by the Chapter, with serial numbers, and the officer responsible for allocation and possession. The Treasurer will provide other financial information, if necessary, in accordance with State AEP financial policies.

AEP Los Angeles Chapter - Nominations for Board Positions

VICE PRESIDENT OF PROGRAMS. The vice president of programs is responsible for coordinating chapter programs, including, but not limited to, preparing written descriptions and summaries of such programs, ensuring that program topics reflect the various interests of the interdisciplinary membership of the chapter, identifying topic speakers, securing a meeting place, coordinating refreshments for the meeting, and providing audiovisual equipment as needed.

LEGISLATIVE LIAISON(S). The legislative liaison shall be responsible for identifying new or pending legislation and reporting about it on an as-needed basis at chapter meetings and through the newsletter.
